Deneys Zeederberg is the founder and owner of Deneys Zeederberg Attorneys. Deneys completed his Certificate in Advanced Companies Law at the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg and Advanced Business Rescue Practice at Unisa after he obtained his LLB degree at the NWU.

Deneys commenced practice at a well established medium sized law firm and became a partner within his first 2 years at the firm. Deneys has built up a wealth of knowledge working on complex legal matters with some of the most reputable advocates in the country and in doing so acquired in dept knowledge in amongst other, cooperate, commercial, civil, administrative and property related matters and built up an extensive book of clients.

Deneys prides himself in being able to provide practical and legally sound solutions to his clients’ legal matters and in doing so has delivered many successful results in completing his mandates.

Deneys strives to make a difference in the community he lives in and to become a household name within the legal fraternity.

Deneys is also an avid sportsman and plays golf on a regular basis, enjoys hunting and fly fishing and even though he does not play cricket anymore enjoys supporting the game.

Kira Baptiste

Attorney

LLB (University of Pretoria)

Kira was retained as a junior attorney after completing her articles at Deneys Zeederberg Attorneys in October 2021. She completed her LLB degree at the University of Pretoria and is a member of the Golden Key International Honours Society.

In only a short period of time, Kira has gained valuable exposure and experience in commercial and civil litigation whilst also expanding her knowledge in technology law.

Kira has a strong interest in cyber and information law, with a particular focus on the protection of personal information and data privacy.

Kira strives to deliver expert client services and is dedicated to finding specialist solutions which are the most appropriate to the unique circumstances which clients finds themselves in. Her dedication and discipline is credited to her outstanding sporting career, which saw her swim at the FINA World Cup in Dubai and Doha.

Cindy Sampson

Candidate Attorney

B.Com LLB (University of Pretoria)

Cindy is a double graduate, having completed her B. Com Law and LLB both at the University of Pretoria. She graduated in 2020 and began her articles under Deneys Zeederberg in May 2021.

She has gained invaluable insight and experience working closely with the senior members of the team.

She has a keen interest in Trust and Estates Law as well as Commercial Law.

Marita Rouse

Paralegal

Paralegal Diploma (University of Cape Town)

Marita started her career as a secretary at a small law firm in 1994. Since then she has worked at various law firms in Pretoria, Johannesburg, Durban and in Cape Town she worked at the Attorneys Fidelity Fund.

In 2013 Marita enrolled at UCT and got her Paralegal Diploma.

Then in 2018, after returning to South Africa, after staying in Gaborone, Botswana for 8 years, Marita joined Mr. Zeederberg as his secretary at the firm he was a partner at, at the time.

In 2020 Marita left the firm with Mr. Zeederberg to establish Deneys Zeederberg Attorneys.

Marita started taking over various rolls in the new firm, from front desk, secretarial, to office admin. She is the first person you will meet when you walk in the door.

Lee-Ann Venter

Candidate Attorney

LLB (NWU)

Eager to start her legal career, Lee-Ann completed her LLB degree in 2021 at the North-West University and actively took part in university activities. She has a passion for the arts and enjoys being a violinist in her free time.

She expressed interest in Health Care and Environmental Law during her studies and aspires to become one of South Africa’s most well-rounded and accomplished attorneys.

She joined the team in January 2022 and looks forward to gaining exposure in various fields of law.

Kira Karantonis

Administrative Assistant

Kira Karantonis matriculated from Uplands College in 2019, where she was elected as Deputy Head Girl in 2019.

She grew up on a game reserve in Kwa-Zulu Natal and has been exposed to managing luxury lodges in the Sabie Sands from a young age

In 2020 she decided to move to Gauteng, in search of greater opportunities and to expand her horizons. She was employed by Deneys Zeederberg Attorneys as an administrative assistant and has been a valuable asset to the team ever since.

Kira is an eager learner and is looking forward to developing her skills and gaining relevant industry knowledge.
